Michael Hall Solo Artist

Michael Hall began learning the piano at the age of seven. His love and fascination for the instrument was instant and during the 11 years that he was classically trained through to present day, his hunger to improve and grow as a performer has never wavered.

It became increasingly apparent that his first love was jazz and blues; idolising the greats like Oscar Peterson and Monty Alexander. The latter particularly had become a large influence in his playing due to his ability to set up apparently effortless ‘grooves’.

It is contemporary music however in which Mike has earned his reputation; his extensive repertoire has grown simply from great popular songs that have touched him. He has always been anxious to avoid pretentious music and instead offers his audience familiar tunes that they would choose to listen to themselves.

This could incorporate any tune from the 1920’s right through to modern day songs.

Michael ensures that every wedding is personal to the couple by including tunes that particularly mean something to them. It helps personalise the day and also gives him a strong idea of similar material that would be suitable.

Michael has a full size digital piano and amplification for venues without a piano.
